Eye Candy - Scarlett Johansson

I was first introduced to Scarlett Johansson in the movie Lost in Translation. The character she portrayed seemed real to me, bored out of her mind, she just wanders around the film, but "real" non-the-less. But unlike, "normal-real people" she was breath taking. Seriously, I kept thinking, someone that pretty should ALWAYS have something to do. I mean, she could walk around and I'm sure people (especially guys) would want to hang out with her. But of course, that is beside the point of the movie.

Now, I will admit, I usually don't care for young celebrities (she's only 23 years old). I mean, they are a dime-a-dozen. It's like, "Look at me! I'm young, thin, rich and beautiful."Ugghhh. Give me a break. Start saying that when you're 30. At times I find myself relishing their down-fall (yes, I guess I am a "hater" on the young).

But Ms. Johansson, doesn't come off like the other celebrities. I can't really put my finger on it but she does appear more mature. Maybe it's her choice of movies roles or the fact she doesn't hang with the Britney's or Paris'. Either way, she's okay in my book and I wish her a full career. I want to see her 20 years from now, like a Diane Lane or Jessica Lange

To date, I've seen the following movies she's appeared in:
  • Lost in Translation - fantastic!
  • Girl with a Pearl Earring - She did a good job, a very convincing maid.
  • The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie - I love my little sponge that lives in a pinneapple under the sea! But I totally don't remember her voice in this movie.
  • The Perfect Score - forgettable
  • In Good Company - again, playing a smart young lady
  • Match Point - I have never been a big Woody Allen fan, but this was nice
  • The Island - I love this movie (big Ewan fan), if I stumble across it on cable, I will stop and watch it over and over again
  • The Prestige - liked the movie, but she was forgettable in it
  • Scoop - I really liked this, as I said, I wasn't a Woody Allen fan, but this movie turned me around (oh that witty dialog!)
  • The Nanny Diaries - Lordy, was this a horrible movie. Don't watch it, read the book, it was much better!
This year, I learned she was a big Obama supporter and she immediately was upgraded to afriend in my head. You see, I have some people I don't personally know, but they become good friends in my head. Meaning, if we did actually met, we would instantly become bestfriends! (Did I just go back to being in the 5th grade?)

Oh, I think I should mention, these Eye Candy posts, aren't necessary about an attraction thing. It's more of a celebration and recognition of people who stand out and are interesting, whether it be a result of their looks, style or opinion. (not to mention, they help get search hits on my blog!)

Enjoy the eye candy. You can check out more photos here.
