Eric Holder was offered the position of United States Attorney General.
I briefly met Mr. Holder while I was working for the Obama campaign. I was a volunteer in Philly at the National Constitution Center where Obama gave his "A More Perfect Union" (Race Speech). It was a brief encounter where I had to direct him to someone higher up to show him where he should go. He was extremely nice and gracious. I had no idea who the guy was, but my immediate reaction was he was a major player and a good guy. He just gave off a good guy vibe.
He also has the resume to fulfill this position. He is a former superior court judge and U.S. attorney in Washington, DC. He was also Deputy Attorney General under Janet Reno.
While I wholeheartedly like this nomination (and believe he will correct all the wrongs done by Alberto Gonzales), I am a little distressed about all these Clinton administration people hovering around the next Obama administration. I hope this doesn't become a pattern and we end up with the same people from the Clinton years.
We all want some change and new faces.
But I will defer to Obama and believe he knows exactly what he's doing.
Oh yeah, Eric Holder will be the first black attorney general.
