WARNING: Spoilers will be revealed. Please ONLY read if you've watched this episode. Seriously.
Here are my quick thoughts as I watched the show. I don't feel the need to do a "review" because I'm pretty sure you can find that anywhere on the internet. Here's what was rolling around my mind as I watched:
- So we start with a bang - Bill stakes a vampire and Russell easily knocks him down. I really have no idea what Bill is up to... suddenly he will go as far as to stake a vamp to save Sookie, even though he's surrounded by at least 5 vampires? What was he thinking? See, this why Eric will always win, he THINKS first.

- We also find out Russell is almost 3000 years old. That answers my question from last week.
- When Russell came into the room to interrogate Sookie, did you see the fake smile on Eric's face? Ha! That made me laugh.
- Well now, Jessica seems to be getting in to the hang of being a vampire.
- Oh poor Jesus! His back-story is so sad.
- So Russell doesn't know what Sookie is... that is very interesting. I wonder how long they will string us along before her true talents are revealed.
- While Bill was on the floor and Lorena started to torture him, I actually wished he would die. Ugh, I'm kind of tired of him.

- Franklin is still crazy and I still love him. But I would not have been able to do what Tara did, by biting him... that was gross.
- Do you trust Jesus? I'm not sure if I do. Maybe he's a narc?
- Oh! Now the truth comes out about Sam's family. BOOK SPOILERS - If you read the books then you know all about the were-fighting rings. Remember Quinn's back story? By the way, I hate Quinn and his constantly calling Sookie "babe".
- Tara should have just staked Franklin if she really wanted to get away from him.
- I really hate those dirty Hotshot people. Seriously.
- How is Lorena and Bill still awake during the day-light hours? Especially Bill since he was nearly drained?
P.S. - Mad Men's new season just started! If you aren't a Mad Men fan, what are you waiting for?

I'm
Incredible! This was possibly the goriest episode since Season 1 and I think its just what all the Trubies have been waiting for!
ReplyDeleteWhat's up, Bill? Did you learn NOTHING from your first staking of a Vampire? I think that this is to keep Bill in our semi-good graces...kind of a 'See how much he REALLY loves Sookie?' moment so that we won't want him gonzo. Let's face it, even if he is tiresome and pretty much nonexistent after Book 3, they can't erase him from the show. Especially since he's been paraded around as the star (and engaged to the female lead in RL).
And wow. Way to make Eric look like an ass! Maybe I'm wrong, but even when Eric appeared to be leaving Sookie out to dry in the books, she at least knew that there was a reason. Was he ever so outwardly mean and uncaring to her? (OK, I still love him...)
Tara, that's one hell of a survival instict you have there, Girl! I will freely admit, tho, that I cried a howling "NOOOOOOOOO!" when she bashed Franklin's head in. He was the breakout star of this season, in my opinion...now, how long will I have to wait to see if his squished melon will regenerate? God, I hope he can regenerate. I'll miss the crazy. :(
Hotshot = Bore. Which is sad, since Jason is being relegated to such a backburner (well, at least in my head) storyline. They're wasting Ryan Kwanten's excellent comedic timing and making him too soft. I'd rather save him from book obscurity than Bill anyday of the week.
I was never a fan of Quinn either. Wonder if he'll even show up since they've stolen his storyline for Sam's family? OR maybe the supes and shifters are teamed together to dominate the dog fighting ring? I kind of want to see Quinn, tho...since I totally think he should be played by my friend, Joe Zaso...Google him, check out his FB page...HE IS QUINN! (ok, enough of the pimping, lol)
Good question about Bill & Lorena staying awake during the daylight! It didn't occur to me until you mentioned it...I guess we're supposed to ignore cannon and just suspend belief? (Ha! As if the entire series DOESN'T ask us to 'suspend belief"!)
Oh, PS: Talbott cracked me up last night. "You never take me anywhere!" Too funny, that poor put upon wife...
Sheesh, was my comment longer than your post? Thank goodness for you, Camille! I need a place to vent and discuss! ;)
ReplyDeleteIm pretty sure they mentioned it in season 2 (I think) when Lorena had Bill trapped in that motel room that because they were so old that they didnt have to retire in the daylight hours.
ReplyDeleteLoved the episode. Especially the end, Alcide Naked Yummy!
ReplyDeleteIn the book "Club Dead" a part of Bill's torture was keeping him awake. And Sookie rescues him during the day. He is slightly awake then, and so is Lorena. That is when Sookie kills her.
According to the book, the compulsion to sleep at sunrise is nearly impossible to resist. But one can keep them awake, although it is painful. The older the vampire, the earlier he can rise.
What fascinates me is the preview of the next episode. Will the reason bill came back to Bon Temps be revealed early? It seems like they're smooshing a couple of the books together in this season.
I love the Eric storyline. Looking into the past and revealing what make him tick. I believe his nastiness towards Sookie is an act, and his master plan will be revealed, as usual.
At work we were discussing whether or not Franklin is dead, she should have chosen the axe, instead of the Mace.
I can't wait until next week!!
Ok I just saw this video on HBO.com. OMG!!!
