Vivian Maier - unknown street photographer

Vivian Maier was a nanny in Chicago and when she died her estate was put up for auction. John Maloof bid on and won a couple of boxes. He was pleasantly surprised to find thousands of negatives. When he developed the film he discovered Vivian Maier was a wonderful street photographer, with great shots from the 1950s and 1960s.

Watch the video of her story:

  1. Synchronicity! Its a small blogosphere: I just posted a link to my blog on the Chicago Cultural Center exhibit on Vivian Maier. What a coincidence... :o)

  2. @jeff i like when things work out like that.

  3. That is an amazing story and her photographs are beautiful. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this, thank you!
