My Game of Thrones obsession has ended....

I finished the first three books in the series and was captivated (see this post).

Book four, A Feast of Crows... well I'm not feeling it and decided to stop.

The author introduces new characters I could care less about and after all the craziness that happened in book three I just wanted him to continue as is, but he decided to go in a different direction. And on top of that they changed the narrator for the audiobooks and this guy reads like he's reading Shakespear and it sucks. They really should re-record the book with Roy Dotrice (he narrated the first 3 - here's an example) he was awesome, he did different voices for characters and read a little slower which made it easier for you to get into the flow of the book.

Anyway, I have time to update my blog again...

sorry for my absence.

  1. Don't give up too quickly. The fourth book was split in two, so that book four and book five are supposed to be one book.

  2. roy dotrice was ill an unable to do affc but he does adwd. like the previous comment said afwf and adwd were supposed to be 1 large book but had to be broken into 2. book 5 will have all the characters absent from book 4. dont give up. btw. the jaime and brienne chapters rule in affc.

  3. *affc* that was had a mistype.

  4. @Lord Zupka and @Anonymous do yall promise it gets better?

And Jamie and Brienne, you say? I think I'm starting to ship those two... I might have to check out some fanfiction when this all done.

Okay, I'm going to give it a couple weeks and come back to it.

  5. I'm roughly 170 pages into the third book (A Storm of Swords) -- and Jaime is going to have to come a long way for me to "ship" him with anyone.

How did you ever forgive him for Bran?

  6. @Laura well it's not that I "forgave" him for Bran... but let's say his character grew on me. I won't say more, keep reading and let me know if you know what I mean. Cheers!
