Lyn Collins and Sampling

Man... I don't even want to write about it, just listen to this (wait for the beat to drop):

Were you feeling it? Did it sound familiar?

The song was written and produced by James Brown and recorded by Lyn Collins. First, the song is pretty awesome, secondly, it probably sounded familiar because this song is one of the most frequently sampled James Brown recordings.

Unless you live under a rock I'm sure you've heard the song It Takes Two by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock. If  not listen to it here:

I was jammin' to these songs and just wanted to share. You can learn more about music sampling.

Tim Burton Meets the Golden Trio

You know what, I would be interested seeing Harry Potter through Tim Burton's eyes... I'm sure he could have done something amazing with Voldemort.

My random thoughts on the Royal Wedding (kind of live blogging)

8:45 AM

The kiss gif.

8:34 AM

The Kiss! The first one was really quick and caught us off guard, but luckily they kissed again... and I was appeased.

I think Kate wanted to hang out a bit longer on the balcony, the Queen went back in rather quickly. I wish they hung out longer... I mean, this only happens once and when you think about it, ALL those people came to see you, give them what the want.

I'm feeling rather tired now...

She's Your Queen To Be - Coming to America

7:50 AM

Its kind of crazy that Prince William, or should I call him the Duke of Cambridge has to wait so long to kiss or hug his bride. Perhaps they kissed already behind closed doors. Anyway, I'm getting sleepy now... I don't know if I can stay  up for this kiss... oh yes, I'll set my alarm... wait, who am I kidding, I'm going to see this wedding until the end.

7:41 AM

The Bride and Groom.

7:36 AM

For all the royal wedding haters, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" - Hamlet

7:31 AM

So royal...

6:37 AM

The ring... Prince William like many royals won't wear a ring, so he didn't get one.

6:24 AM

I hope everyone saw Prince Williams whisper "you look beautiful" to Kate when she finally reached the alter. You could totally see the love in his eyes... it was quite a lovely moment.

6:16 AM

The Dress! Kate is a class act when it comes to fashion.

5:53 AM

The Queen arrives!

Harry always looks like a cute little boy to me... maybe it's because of his constant smiling. He's a cutie!

5:26 AM

I totally smiled (hard) when I saw Prince William and Prince Harry driving to the wedding.... geez, I promised myself I wouldn't do this...

So I will attempt to update this blog post throughout the day with random images and thoughts I have watching the Royall Wedding.

4:48 AM

Google Doodle for the day in honor of the Royal Wedding

So I set my alarm for 3:45am and actually woke up at 4:10am which is a record for me, I usually hit snooze four times. Anyway, way I’m UP and watching the Royal Wedding!

Since it’s 4am and I’m sitting on the couch, laptop at hand and well I have nothing else to do but tweet and blog. I hope I don’t loose many twitter followers because I will probably live tweet the event, but hey folks it’s only one day.

Prince's Mugshot

As someone stated on tumblr, this mugshot could totally be an album cover, and I have to agree.

According to Raw Justice, "Prince and one of his bandmates were arrested on March 29th, 1980 in Mississippi for pulling a prank on an airplane. Judging from the mugshot, Prince wasn’t overly concerned about the arrest or sorry for the prank."

Bill Nye on Science

"Science is the key to our future, and if you don't believe in science, then you're holding everybody back. And it's fine if you as an adult want to run around, pretending or claiming that you don't believe in evolution, but if we educate a generation of people who don't believe in science, that's a recipe for disaster... The main idea in all of biology is evolution. To not teach it to our young people is wrong." - Bill Nye

I totally agree Mr. Nye... by the way, I loved his show Bill Nye the Science Guy

Klaus Nomi

Klaus Sperber (January 24, 1944 – August 6, 1983), better known as Klaus Nomi, was a German countertenor noted for his wide vocal range and an unusual, otherworldly stage persona. Nomi was known for his bizarrely visionary theatrical live performances, heavy make-up, unusual costumes, and a highly stylized signature hairdo which flaunted a receding hairline. His songs were equally unusual, ranging from synthesizer-laden interpretations of classical music opera to covers of 1960s pop standards like Chubby Checker's "The Twist" (listen) and Lou Christie's "Lightnin' Strikes" (listen).

Judge me if you will, but I love all this Royal Wedding madness

Yes, I'm one of those people who is obsessively watching ALL the Prince William/Kate Middleton documentaries and news segments, seriously, I did a search on DirectTV and recorded all of them... all of them. Of course the hardest decision I'm having right now is trying to decide what channel to watch the wedding? I would just watch the BBC America news coverage but that channel isn't in HD (and I have to watch it in HD of course)... CNN sucks, maybe NBC... ah the dilemmas which plague my life... ha!

I did see the Lifetime movie William & Kate and I'm ashamed to say I enjoyed it even though I KNOW it was crap. Ugh, I don't know why I like the royals so much... I guess because it's something so foreign and exotic to me that I just find it all rather intriguing. But I will say I'm not into it because I want to know what she will wear (I could care less what the dress looks like), I like the whole pageantry and history of it all, that's the interesting bit.

Anyway, I watched this video way too many times because I love it.

Oh yeah, I already scheduled to take the day off from work so I can watch all the festivities... yeah, it's that serious for me. Whatever... don't steal my joy!

Prince Harry PHOTO SPAM

I'm really digging Prince Harry... he just seems like a regular guy and he smiles (a lot) which just makes me like him more.
