** spoiler alert **
The best way to describe this book is to say, "Mary Sue up the wazoo!"
Angie is the perfect tormented housewife to her overbearing sadist husband. She meets Ross, the Perfect (yes, with a capital P) man and starts a friendship (eventually romance) with him. This perfect man (they have everything, I mean, literally everything in common) gives her the strength and inspiration to leave her husband but...
Okay, this is sort of a spoiler (sorry), but let me just say, if your husband who has a history of abuse, beats you and rapes you then the next day says he rented a boat for you to take a romantic ride in the Mediterranean DON'T GO! It's a good probability he will try to kill you... just sayin'.
Anyway, at certain points while I reading I felt like this was a Christian romance or something because of weird mentions to God, and then I was annoyed because whenever the characters spoke to each other they gave speeches and well it was wholly unrealistic.
I don't know how I stumbled across this book, but well, I finished it and that's saying something.
PS. - If you aren't familiar with the term "Mary Sue"
